Currently we are on
Angular: 5.2.10
Complexity :- Medium
Queries:-
1. How critical is to migrate Angular app with angular versions v5.2.0
which is no longer under support
1. Would it be an issue or would it be break anything going forward
in case if we plan to *not to upgrade*
2. If yes, what should be the minimum version to upgrade to, which
may not break anything going forward as in it would not have any impact
of
future releases.
3. If we have to follow migration approach, should it be ok to go
from 5 to 6 directly, skipping minor version upgrade or make it an
iterative approach like 5->6->7 etc..
4. If someone has already done a migration from 5 to 6 or 7,8, what’s
the approx. timelines and major roadblock, please share your experience.
2. Active Directory Authentication Library (*ADAL-Angular 5*) for
JavaScript

1. we are using this library, do we need to upgrade this if we decide
to go for iterative upgrade from 5 to 6 to 7 etc.
2. any other latest alternative for this library à MSAL is
recommended for higher versions of Angular. So shall we consider MSAL
while
migrating to Angular 6 ?
i. if
we used MSAL, Do we have any impact on the API being used for consuming
token generated by MSAL
ii.
Migrating to use MSAL is recommended over ADAL before angular version
upgrade or the other way round.

calling library for consuming backend API’s

1. TypeScript:- current version being used is 2.5, migrating to 6 would
have any impact on typescript 4 and wrt syntax etc..
