Concerning building animata rev41 from source:

Averything goes well until scons tells me i need to install fltk.... any way
to do without this (using mesa or the like)? If not, could someone please
help me with installing fltk (preferable not from source as i have tried
this and understand absouttely nothing (bad documentation/supply of
tutorials). Animata is a nice program but if you want OSC-functionality you
are stuck unless you're a compiler-geek. i have seen many 'complaints' on
this subject but so for no fixes... will there be a reliable, OSC/pd-anabled
animata release soon?
