Hi All:
My former assistant, Scott Fortmann-Roe, conveyed the following to me
in response to the latest round of emails concerning Maren's
contributions. As I don't program myself I don't keep track of all
this.
Maren: Note that Scott ([email protected]) is now in Krakow, so if you
are in Poland, you might be able to meet him.
Best
Wayne

Subject: Re: Huck paper
Hi Wayne,
Huck says they are using AdeHabitat v1.7 to calculate LoCoH (LCH)
homeranges.
If memory serves me right (and a quick check of my emails -- GMail
is the history of my life):
1) Before I started work on LoCoH there was a version the the
algorithm implemented in the AdeHabitat package for R.
2) I took the script as the base of my work when I worked at the
berkeley over the summer and then greatly extended/rewrote it and
added support for a number of front ends (ESRI, web, etc...) for it.
3) I handed these changes back to the AniMov people and the
AdeHabitat R function was replaced with my new version. This was in
AdeHabitat version 1.5. The Huck paper cites version 1.7 of this
package so it is based my changes (and as far as I can tell from a
quick scan of changelogs the K-NNCH algorithm in the package hasn't
been updated since then).
I like the findings of the paper, they looks pretty good. :)
