Hi Tim, there was a thread [0] and a ticket [1] opened about this issue, that popped out first on Windows. I solved it upgrading rpy2 with the most recent version available on SourceForge. If you use OSGeo4W installer, you can upgrade python-rpy2 package from there, the problem disappeared as reported by Giovanni Manghi on the wiki page of the plugin [2]. The wiki is migrating on http://www.qgis.org/qgis-wiki so stay tuned, that link will need update soon. Please use Trac to report any further problem.
