Hi Carolina,
if you work with SpatialPointsDataFrame, SpatialLinesDataFrame or
SpatialPoligonsDataFrame objects
you can use the maptools package. The functions are writeShapePoints,
writeShapeLines and writeShapePoly.
You can see the help, they are simple to use. If you have other questions,
