join the ApacheCon logo design contest and win a free pass to ApacheCon U.S. 2004. It will be held in the Alexis Park hotel in Las Vegas 13-17 November. The ApacheCon team seeks a logo for ApacheCon 2004. It will be used for the ApacheCon 2004 t-shirt, and may also be used for other purposes such as brochures and the ApacheCon web site. Deadline for all submissions is Wednesday, 15 September 2004! The winner will be notified by 17 September and has to provide a final version of the image by 22 September. The final version of the logo should be provided in a vector format (or as a high-resolution image). For the September 3rd deadline images should be submitted that are suitable for display on a web site. The winning logo will be selected by the ApacheCon planning team. The winner receives a 3-day ApacheCon pass with a value of $899 (if you cannot attend the conference or already have a pass, you may transfer your prize to someone else. The winner will be notified via email. The following are the guidelines for submissions: - - The text "ApacheCon U.S. 2004" must be part of the image. - - Submissions should include an image (PNG, JPG, or GIF) with a maximum size of 460x460 pixel. - - Final image should be in a vector format, preferably SVG, Illustrator, or EPS. Alternatively a high-resolution uncompressed TIFF image with a minimum size of approximately 2048x1536 may be submitted. - - The image should be usable on different background colors - - The Apache feather may be incorporated into the image. - - The image may use a limited number of colors to allow for easier use on a t-shirt. All submitted logos will be presented on the logo contest page on the ApacheCon web site. SVG and Illustrator versions of the Apache feather can be found at http://www.apache.org/foundation/press/kit/ if you would like to include it in your logo.
