The Apache Knox team is proud to announce the release of Apache Knox 0.14.0!
Apache Knox is a REST API Gateway for providing secure access to the data and processing resources of Hadoop clusters. More details on Apache Knox can be found at: http://knox.apache.org/ This release is primarily focused on improving the manageability aspects of Knox. KIP-8 detailed the focus on leveraging ecosystem APIs as service registries (Apache Ambari) and having a remote location to discovery configuration rather than local disk for every Knox instance. This feature will work alongside of existing support for authoring topology XML files but will begin to focus administrative actions on the simplified descriptors to generate topologies. This release will be followed up shortly by another with package changes and minor bug fixes to represent our 1.0.0 release. Some of the highlights of this release are: - Service Discovery from Ambari for Topology Generation - Simplified Descriptors to Drive Topology Generation - Monitoring of ZooKeeper for Remote Configuration - Shared Provider Configuration Across Topologies - Related Admin API and UI Changes - Nifi Proxy Support - Livy API Proxy Support - HA Support For Apache SOLR, HBase & Kafka - Websocket Support Improvements - Many other improvements and bug fixes!
