*Postdoctoral Researcher in Planetary Circulation at University of Exeter*

The College wishes to recruit an Associate Research Fellow/Research Fellow to support the work of Professor Geoffrey K. Vallis. This post is available immediately, or from a time to be negotiated, for up to 48 months. The project will to study the dynamics and regimes of planetary atmospheres, including that of Earth.

The post will include numerical modelling and theoretical activities concerning the large-scale circulation of planetary atmospheres, investigating planetary regimes, jets, and the relation of the circulation of Earth to that of other planets, and the interaction of physical processes, such as radiation, with dynamics. The successful applicant will be knowledgeable in climate dynamics, planetary dynamics and/or geophysical fluid dynamics or related fields, and ideally will have expertise in both theory and numerical modelling. The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. The successful applicant will posses a relevant Ph.D.
