Hey announce@, TL;DR: Doing a capture the flag April 19 - 21, email me if you want to be involved/informed.
== Next weekend, some of us are planning on participating in a CTF called Plaid CTF: - http://www.plaidctf.com/ - https://twitter.com/PlaidCTF Basically, a Capture the Flag (CTF) is a computer challenge designed by and for clever people. For a 48 hour period, starting April 19 at 4pm, we'll be given a variety of challenges, from laughably mundane to ubertechnical. The difficulty and type of challenges varies a great deal depending on who wrote them, but they're always a great time! We have no clue what to expect from this challenge, but if you want to hear past warstories, talk to me, Mak, or Alex (and definitely some others, too) about challenges we've worked on in the past. I've learned more crazy facts (and had more fun) doing CTFs than almost anything else! Topics often include logic puzzles, reverse engineering, exploitation, cryptography, programming, Web stuff, forensics, steganography, and tons more. You never really know! If you want to help out, and you aren't already on the ctf@ mailing list, email me directly and I'll subscribe you. Even if you can't make it on the 19th - 21st and want to do future CTFs, let me know. It's a super quiet list. So far, the team is: Me, Alex, Mak, Rylaan. Of course, I only put out the call for players a few minutes ago.. :) Working on a CTF looks something like this: http://securityreactions.tumblr.com/post/45834543413/playing-a-ctf Ron _______________________________________________ SkullSpace Announce Mailing List Help: http://www.skullspace.ca/wiki/index.php/Mailing_List#Announce Archive: https://groups.google.com/group/skullspace-announce-archive/
