Hey everybody,
Tonight's meeting will be somewhat meta ("I'm so meta, even this
acronym"), and will help shape our direction as a community, in a way.
I encourage everybody who can to make time to come. And if anybody can
bring a bucket of water and some rocks, we can make SkullSpace into a
steam room, too!
As you're probably aware, particularly if you read discuss@, we're
pretty stable these days. We have a little bit of money (and our deficit
is basically zero, or better), we don't need to build walls, everything
generally works, etc. We also have a lot of momentum behind our Tuesday
meetings, it's a day of the week that most members keep open for
SkullSpace, and lately there hasn't been much to do. So what do we do
about it!?
We've thrown around some discussion on IRC and the discuss@ list about
doing talks - whether general or technical - or perhaps "show and tell"
type events. We've tried doing this sorta stuff in the past, but it's
always fallen apart due to lack of organization/commitment.
So, for tonight's meeting, in addition to the usual topics, let's talk
about how we can change up Tuesdays a bit. Replace every second or third
meeting with one or more talks? Have labs/workshops that people can work
on? Etc?
I'll open the floor tonight to talk about how we can make Tuesday
awesome, and will also be looking for a couple volunteers to make it
happen.
Don't forget to bring $10 to buy your anti-social ticket if you haven't
yet!
