TL;DR: We made about $560. I'll run it again next time I visit.

Hey folks,

I hope everybody who went to Hacker Jeopardy had fun! I apologize for any
technical glitches and stuff. But I'm glad things mostly worked out! :)

In the end, we were profitable, too! I just wanted to break even, since I
wanted to be able to run this again and not lose money. I'll give a quick
rundown of the finances below.

Please let me know if:

a) You have any suggestions on how we can do better (I opened like 20 bugs
on Jeremy's github project, so the software will definitely be improved. :)
)

b) If I owe you money or something that I forgot to pay

Here's a rough breakdown of what we spent:
- $120 - Prizes
- $100 - Liquor permit
- $215 - Food + mix
- $475 - Liquor

I also donated about $45 in food, mix, and ice, because I didn't feel like
keeping the receipts.

The total money I wound up with at the end of the night (that you'll see
around) was $1758.45. That includes my $300 in float, so in reality the
real number was $1458.45. Minus the $910 we paid out, that means we made
$558.45. We also wound up with a bunch of food and pop that we can sell, so
there's a significant amount of hidden income as well.

If those numbers don't add up, I may have missed something when
transcribing my notes. But the final total is right :)

I also wanted to give a huge hug to all our volunteers. Except for the ones
who are taller than me, I hugged a tall guy yesterday and it was weird.
Thanks to these folks, and sorry to anybody I missed (especially people who
helped with the door, I wasn't up there all night, Nathan's friends in
particular whose names I don't really remember):

Tickets: Richard
Host: Ian / Zoe
Venue: Nathan
Bartender: Molly - HUGE props to her for working alone all frickin' night!
Door: Brittany, Nathan, Sean Cody, Ben, Troy, and a couple of Nathan's
friends whose names I totally forget (Kristie?)
Software / support: Jeremy / Phoul / Mark Jenkins
Audio / video: Adrian / Colin
Liquor permit: Jay
Pick up liquor: Nathan

This is my planning document which I kept pretty up to date:

And here are photos from the event (mildly NSFW.. it contains some plastic

I think that's it! Thanks again to everybody who came and who helped out! I
couldn't have done it without you!
