Dear colleagues:
I hope all is well with you. I am writing to mention some
information about the upcoming LPVa state convention, to take place at the
Richmond Marriott (500 E. Broad Street) in Richmond on Saturday, March 29.
1) The deadline for registration to obtain the "early bird" package
prices is next Monday (March 10). Thus, if you wish to take advantage of
the "early bird" discount, please send your registration information to me
by that date. Please note that while you are welcome to pay by credit
card or money order, our preference is that payment be made by check,
payable to the Libertarian Party of Virginia. If you are planning to
purchase a convention package (especially a full package), it would be
helpful to me if you would let me know about this via e-mail as soon as
possible.
2) The special convention rate for guest rooms ($124.00 per night (single
or double occupancy), plus tax) at the hotel is guaranteed only until
Friday, March 7. After that date, there is no guarantee that guest rooms
will be available at the convention rate. You may reserve a room by
calling Marriott at (800) 228-9290 or (804) 643-3400, and requesting the
Libertarian Party of Virginia convention rate. Please note that there is
a $12.00 parking fee for overnight guests.
3) Please let me know if you are interested in sponsoring an exhibitor
table (or information table) at the convention, or if you wish to purchase
an advertisement to appear in the convention program. For those who wish
to purchase an ad in the convention program, please note that we would
like to receive the ad artwork from you no later than March 15.
4) If you have been gathering petition signatures to place the
Libertarian Party presidential ticket on the ballot in November, please
bring the signatures you have gathered to the convention. I anticipate
that we shall have notaries at the convention who can notarize the
signatures you have gathered.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or
comments about the convention. You are welcome to contact me via e-mail
or by calling me at (434) 973-5958. Information about the convention is
available on the LPVa website at http://lpva.com/HTML/2008convention.htm.
In addition, the most recent issue of Virginia Liberty contains
information about the convention, and LPVa members should have received a
mailing about the convention within the past few days.
Thank you for your work for liberty, and for your consideration of
this message. I look forward to seeing you at the convention, if not
before.
Take care,
Jim
