LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF VIRGINIA APPOINTS NEW OFFICERS

The Libertarian Party of Virginia (LPVA) met in Sandston on Saturday (March 5,
2016), and elected officers to its State Central Committee (SCC) for the
2016-2018 term.

Bo Brown of Chesterfield County was installed to fill the Party's chairmanship.
Brown works in real estate and accounting, and was the 4th district candidate
for congress in 2014.

Andy Bakker was elected as vice chairman and calls the city of Alexandria home.
Bakker is a law student at George Mason Law and currently also serves the
Libertarian Party as the chairman of the Northern Virginia Libertarians local
chapter. He is also a frequent contributor at the "Freedom Gulch" human rights
blog and is an active VĂ©loCity Co-op Volunteer.

James Curtis of Henrico County was re-elected as Treasurer. Curtis is a Senior
Manager at a Richmond area public accounting firm. He is active with the UVA
Club of Richmond and the Marine Corps League.

Marc Montoni of Rockingham County was re-elected as Secretary. Montoni owns
rental real estate and is a stay-at-home dad to three children. Montoni has
been active in the Libertarian Party since Election Eve 1980 and is a
contributor to IndependentPoliticalReport.com and the Libertarian Party Radical
Caucus.

The SCC is the policymaking and administrative authority of the LPVA. It is
composed of the LPVA officers and the Chairs of the 11 Congressional District
Committees.

In addition to the officers, Corey Fauconier of the city of Richmond was tapped
as the group's new Communications Director. Fauconier works as a Public
Relations Specialist helping independent musicians, small business owners and
non profits alike. He also volunteers with Concerned Black Men (Richmond,
Virginia) Lloyd C. Bird High School Alumni Foundation (Chesterfield County,
Virginia), and The Redemption Center (Richmond, Virginia).

The Libertarian Party was founded in 1971; growing to become the third largest
political party in the US. There are over 400 Libertarians serving in public
office nationwide, more than twice as many all other third parties combined.
