WISPA is pleased to welcome LightPointe, it's staff and products to the family of excellent companies serving the WISP industry. It is a pleasure for <http://www.lightpointe.com/> LightPointe Communications, Inc. to join <http://www.wispa.org/> WISPA and work with the organization and its members to help grow the wireless internet service provider industry. LightPointe, which was founded in 1998, has enjoyed what could be referred to as a renaissance the past few years and, for 2013, the company is focusing on enhancing its channel and support of partners. With a renewed mission to grow in our home country of the U.S., it was an easy decision to turn to WISPA, which has become the 'glue' which holds the internet service provider community together and forms the platform for thought leadership in the areas of technology and business growth ideas. With the economy improving, and new opportunities opening up for WISPA members, LightPointe personnel are excited to help play a role in the next phase of WISP and wireless integrator growth. This is such a great time in the wireless industry, as all of us who have survived the "great recession" are the fittest and best of the best, and it's time to continue growing and providing broadband internet access to every home and business. LightPointe manufactures the lowest latency Gigabit capacity 60 and 70/80 GHz point-to-point radios and 4th generation Free Space Optics wireless bridges in the world. We are also the number one manufacturer of hybrid backhaul radios with FSO technology worldwide. Since 1998, we have deployed over 14,000 systems with Enterprises, 4G/LTE Carriers, Government Agencies and Defense/Security organizations through our AirePointe Division ( <http://www.airepointe.com/> www.AirePointe.com). With shipments up ~30% in 2012, LightPointe is growing and committed to producing the highest quality optical and radio frequency products for its end-customers, wireless distributors, and reseller partners. LightPointe is privately held by employees and a billion dollar Silicon Valley enterprise. All products are manufactured in San Diego, California and supported by a world-class network of authorized and trained distributors, resellers and integrators. One reason LightPointe has turned to WISPA in 2013 is that we believe that a confluence of events, or changes, have occurred in the industry which have created a nice fit for LightPointe's newly enhanced backhaul product lineup of radio frequency, Free Space Optics/lasers, and hybrid wireless bridges. Most of our product line is license-free, immune to RF interference and congestion, and helps prevent threats such as eavesdropping, RF jamming and cyber security issues. In addition, LightPointe sells the lowest cost Gigabit capacity wireless bridge in the industry, the AireLite G. Plus, our HyBridge system can upgrade many of the older/slower radios in use to Gigabit capacity, while protecting the operator's investment in that legacy technology.
