Interisle Consulting Group LLC <http://www.interisle.net/> is a partnership of senior network professionals, working with a worldwide network of associates. We work with clients in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors on a range of topics for which the answers are not always obvious. We have extensive experience in architecting, designing, building and managing resilient systems, networks, and organizations. We have worked with many small competitive service providers, including ISPs and CLECs. We helped with the design and rollout of the network infrastructure for the securities industry in New York, but are equally at home helping small service providers deal with technical or regulatory matters, helping a county update its own IT infrastructure, or helping a vendor identify market opportunities. We take a vendor-neutral approach to network architecture and implementation, looking at the broader picture from the physical media to the applications. Our largest current networking project is supporting local governments in the Boston area manage a mixed fiber and wireless network for public safety applications. This involves many ISP-like activities but operates on a private, secure basis. Interisle is active in domestic and international Internet governance and communications policy matters. We were involved in technical aspects of the ICANN review for new top-level domain applications, provided technical and organizational analyses for ICANN and other large players on a variety of topics, and have helped create position papers, for both worldwide governance events and FCC dockets, supporting an inclusive Internet. We have worked with regulators on telecom policy matters and helped our clients adjudicate regulatory and legal disputes, providing expert witness services and topical consulting. We also provide expert services on patent matters, building upon our long experience with network and systems technologies. -- Fred R.
