Just as a quick follow up, this was (A) a unicode bug related to parsing (B) a problem with the copy module in certain modes.
Normally we wouldn't have done a dot release here, but it made sense because we wanted to restore everything to as close-to-perfect after the previous security release series where developing on an embargoed branch and at some speed is always a bit of a tricky thing :) Should be much better now, and unicode tests are greatly enhanced in integration test land to avoid this in the future.
