Hi, I was just trying to work out in what situation would you want to have the inventory level group/host vars at a lower precedence than the playbook level group/host vars. It doesn't really fit with the way we are doing things.
Its something I can work around though though if we are doing something non-standard i'd like to change our approach. I appreciate that this hasn't changed, though we did have to change things around the 1.6 point to do subtle changes like you mention. Agree that being explicit it best.
