Thanks for all the replies. The deprecation of "using variables for task parameters" makes sense now. But the example in the porting guide <https://github.com/ansible/ansible/blob/devel/docsite/rst/porting_guide_2.0.rst> doesn't use "args", it uses: - debug: "{{debug_params}}" Maybe that could be clarified.
