The part of this conversation I do see potential in. I just don't want all paths to be derivative forms of URLs.. Paths are important and too many tools just know how to deal with files. So, if we allow paths to be spec'd as files and as URLs, it also makes the detection routine very complicated (something about having a "://" string....) .duncan
