I don't know how Xerces will finally be packaged (they only *just* got unambiguous permission to ship this support from Sun), so for now I simply point my class path at the xml-xerces/java/build/classes directory itself. When I do this, I don't need either jar file from Sun JAXP package. - Sam Ruby
