Actually I made the modification (attached) assuming that the normal behavior would be to keep the last modified time that's in the .tar file for each of the included files. Modif. tested with jdk-1.2.2 on win98. Would have to be committed to CVS if OK because I would not like to have to maintain an "in-house" copy of Ant if not absolutely necessary.
