Actually, David Medinets suggested implementing the non-extra-space logging as a subclass (and offered to help me put it together -- very nice, thank you), and Stefan actually sent me one he wrote (wow!), so if that works -- and I have no reason to doubt it will -- I'm happy to do it that way. And I'm certainly willing to send it to whoever would like it, so they can also do it that way. (Or Stefan could just post it to the list.) So I think that issue is solved as well. (BTW: Did you mean an ant command line -quiet option? Isn't there one already?) And, I think for now I'm shelving the "list all the files <javac> is looking at" functionality, so I can continue to use Ant off-the-shelf -- and once I have my build system reliably all together, I probably won't really need it anymore anyway. (If it turns out later I would like it afterall, maybe I'll have learned more by then & can do it better.) So it looks like everything is taken care of -- and I can go back to just quietly being a user and stop trying to diddle in the development side. :) Thanks!
