I didn't get an answer the first time I posted this question so I thought I would try and ask my question again.
Why does ant have three exec type taskdefs: Apply, Exec, and ExecOn? Was each created to handled a different type of os command? If so it would be helpful to know the author's assumptions thereby making the selection easier. I read the user guide for these taskdefs but they don't really indicate the justification for each. Appreciative of any answers, Michael
