Since Ant does not run against a DTD, it cannot rely on the XML parser to ! validate the structure of the XML. Further, if it did use a DTD, such an ! attribute would presumably cause a validation failure. ! ! To allow such attributes to pass through would also be to give up the error ! checking that Ant does do today. I would not be in favour of that. Can you tell ! us how this currently affects XML editing tools.
