I've done a roll of my slides for some lecture next month, which kind of
sets the stage for why Ant has such an important role to play
http://www.iseran.com/stuff/Modern_Development_Crises.ppt
The notes are part of the information, except for some of the pages where
the notes are accidentally copied from a predecessor slide. I will tidy that
up.
I have to now add some textbook stuff related to configuration management,
which will probably make it less relevant for ant purposes. But its
important to state that with so many SKUs of the java platform and libraries
its still there even before you start to worry about component dependencies.
And then there is branching...
I am thinking of branching this slideset and turn it into more of a 'why ant
is part of a modern build process' slideshow/PDF file; this would lead in to
Patrick Chanezon's slides on how to actually use ant.
