rsync's remote capabilities was not what I was talking about... just it's behavior.. but I haven't heard of an lsync... ;)
but really, delete directory, copy directory is the best compromise. Not optimized as rsync, but gets the job done. Am I understanding this correctly. delete directory, copy directory is right? Or do you want something that will feed back, like a merge...? can rsync even do that? That's starting to get really complex you know... there is no way a simple program can guess what you mean to do, whether to merge files or prune files arbitrarily.... fern On Wed, 7 Mar 2001, Jose Alberto Fernandez wrote: > I am not trying to implement some remote copy or syncronization facility. > > I just want to be able to keep the directory containing install HTTP pages > in sync with the content of the CVS repository and some other generated > code. > > So, what I need is a task to "synchronize" (if I may abuse the term) two > directories. > > Jose Alberto > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: David Rees [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Wednesday, March 07, 2001 7:35 AM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Re: Directory image task > > > > > > > > On 07 Mar 2001 08:26:15 +0100, Stefan Bodewig wrote: > > > > >Fernando Padilla <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > >> you mean you want an rsync task?? > > > > > >Well executing rsync on Unix (there are probably version for > > >Windows/Mac OS as well, I don't know) would do the trick, but I think > > >Jose Alberto was asking for something more Java.
