Stefan,
I checked out the ant source code using the ANT_14_BRANCH and ran the
build.sh script successfully without the need for the patch that I submitted.
It appears, then, that the *.tar.gz at the following URL does not have
the same source code. Can this *.tar.gz be recreated with the current
code in the ANT_14_BRANCH?
http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-ant/release/v1.4/src/
jakarta-ant-1.4-src.tar.gz
Also, I found that the following *.zip file has no files marked
executable even the files are marked as executable when checked out from
the CVS tree. As a result, Unix platforms cannot invoke build.sh or
bootstrap.sh if they build from this *.zip file. Can this *.zip be
recreated as well?
http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-ant/release/v1.4/src/
jakarta-ant-1.4-src.zip
If the above download files are recreated, then I agree that my patch
should be ignored.
Thanks,
Patrick
