an SSH task is already on the wish list for future versions of ant, as seen in
the task list for the ant2.0 requirements.

In the meantime, you may be able to get away with your deployment problems by
using the mindspring SSH client http://www.isnetworks.com/ssh/) and setting it
up to 'tunnel'; under the tunnel menu you can get it to tunnel telnet or FTP
over the SSH connection; your task does an FTP to some port on localhost and
the SSH app tunnels it over to the far end.

Of course, if you do want to write an SSH task for use today, many of us would
be grateful, though not of course my operations colleagues who view the fact
that we engineers know the deployed system passwords with some concern; if
they thought we could deploy to production from inside the IDE they would be
really worried:-)
