I don't know if this is the intention of the Ant Heap project at SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/antheap/), but it would be useful if there was a playground for the collaborative development of unofficial, optional Ant tests with the idea that the good and generally useful ones might eventually make it into the general distribution.
Such a playground would be helpful in the development of the C++ compilation tasks that have been recently discussed since no one person is going to have all the expertise and hardware to support all the desired platforms. Having several Ant tasks is a common project would develop a better community than creating a distinct SourceForge project for each little effort. It was surprising that Ant Heap was using an MIT license instead of an Apache License. Searching for "Jakarta Ant" listed http://sourceforge.net/search/ listed 7 Ant related projects, however none of them seemed more than under construction.
