I have to say this seems very unnecessary. From all the discussions we have had about Ant2, it is quite obvious that core2 will be structured quite different. Starting with a different package structure if I remember correctly, and a very different component model. To now hold Ant1 hostage because Ant2 plans to be different seems to me to be quite unfare and unnecessary. Ant2 should be allowed to move forward. On a related subject, discussions on ANT2 have been stalled for almost 4 months if not more. Unless there have been secret talks outside the list, I do not see this progressing to anywhere anytime soon.
