If by 'major' you mean 2.0 - probably I can live with that ( and keep using ant1.x ). Changing the XML attributes or existing tags is bad and unjustified. There are too many projects that are using ant, and nobody's taste in naming or structuring the tasks should matter compared with the users' pain when upgrading.
