I guess it depends on what you deem to be "real uses".  I guess the most
common use of SCM support in the build system is to deploy new builds, which
usually only requires a checkout and a checkin.  But of course filesets and
especially "add to source control" would be very handy.

Yes, that's true, but most actions would probably not require that much
interaction with cleartool.  I will probably implement some UCM features
anyway (unless it's been done already) and use them on my system, and if
there is any interest I'd be happy to post them.
