tell that to users who downloaded ant, or one of the projects that use it - saw the deprecation warnings and upgraded their build files. Just FYI of the three codebases I have touched in the last week (Ant, Avalon and Gump) all of them currently or in the recent past have used the attribute. It may be coincidence and these *may* be the only projects that happen to use it however I suspect not. Theres no point busting peoples build files for no good reason. ..snip changing ant in CVS == changing myrmidon in CVS... > Absolutely not. Those who want to live on the edge know the risks of it. Well I disagree. Theres a specific warning in myrmidon CVS (see WARNING.txt), it has never been made a sa nightly download, never been released at all, not even the semblence of standing still ... I could go on. > Please reconsider your -1. I understand what you want to avoid but this is > way too dangerous to generalize Then dont generalize it. I think this change was in place ***before*** 1.4 was released and thus has been around a long time. Thus a lot of people are likely to have been exposed to it. Keep it undocumented and deprecate it but don't remove it. -- Cheers, Pete "Invincibility is in oneself, vulnerability in the opponent." -- Sun Tzu -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
