I don't have access to a AIX system, but I will try recreating your problem on a WinNT box using IBM's JVM. I suspect this has got something to do with it. Meanwhile, I have also patched CVS HEAD such that it provides the stack trace of the error when it occurs (when run in debug mode). Would you be able to perform the same test using Ant 1.5 Alpha and let me know the results?
