Hello ant developers,
It was very difficult for me to integrate a JOnAS EJB task in ant, it seems now
to be impossible to integrate my jythonc task (
http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8080 )
I think ANT need an official website to reference the optional tasks, not integrated into ANT. To help user to find and download the tasks that they need. A more dynamic page that the " External Tools and Tasks " page.
For example, from the ANT home page, in one click users could go to the optional
tasks download page, then go into the compiler section, browse the jythonc
documentation, and download it.
Every registered developers could post a new task, and users could comment it.
A good stimulus for the creativity would the sections : "Most popular downloads"
and "Most popular authors" (Because I love competition !!!) ...
I don't think, it's a difficult job to implement this with Tomcat, Struts, fews EJB
(for JOnAS sure :) and my MySQL. Do you think ASF servers would be the
home of this project ??? (runtime and source)
But is there any already started project ? Else do you think that's a good idea ?
You can have a look to CodeCentral : http://codecentral.borland.com/
I like the concept, and it could be reuse for taglib in Struts, plug-ins for Tomcat, ...
I will be out of the town this week, sorry if I don't answer quickly to your responses
( if I have only negative responses, I will not answer at all, and I will hang myself, promise)
