File permission is important for most of us, I guess.
If we always have to use 'exec' for things like tar,
zip, copy & etc., then it defeats the purpose of "the
ability to be cross platform, to work anywhere and
everywhere." If it's undoable, then your guys should
state explicitly these can't be resolved. Please think
from a user's perspective. Thanks.
