Classic Compiler Question

I have just installed the Ant 1.2 tool on Windows Me and have
encountered the following error during the bootstrap.sh build:

C:\jdk1.2.2\Ant\build.xml:87: Cannot use classic compiler, as it is not
available.

I have jdk1.2.2 running on my machine and other tasks with the build.xml
file work fine.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
