I am new to the list, and I hope this is a correct
place to ask this question.
I would really appreciate some opinions or advice on
how I can deploy an application that has the
following:
1. JSP, HTML and GIF+JPG files
2. Servlet classes
3. Stored procedures for the database
I am on Windows 2000 platform.
I think the EAR and the WAR files can help me with the
1 and 2 (or am I way off board?), but can I automate
the no. 3 - deployment of stored proecedures within
the database? I mean, what if I could for instance ask
the user to tell me where his database is located (the
username, password, connection string and database
type - oracle SQLServer etc) and then automatically
connect to it and execute the stored procedures?
I am not sure if this is possible, but I would
appreciate any help/pointers!
