Personally, I wouldn't recommend doing that -- you should use the same
compiler for dev builds as you do for nightly/test builds as you do for
releases. I'd recommend running a full build with 'jikes', then run your
test-suite (I'm assuming you have one :) against the end result and
compare that against the results of what you compiled using 'javac'. If
the results are the same (or better), then you should be able to consider
switching to it.
