What was the reason for not having an ejbc task for Weblogic 6.0 on the same
lines as the one for Weblogic 5.1? Why did ejbjar come into effect? I want
to know the reason behind it before I try to come up with my own.

I was using the one which was submitted a while ago for Weblogic 6 but we
couldnt get the ejbc to use jikes. It uses the javac which is a DOG compared
to jikes.

Will keep you guys posted once I figure it out.

Meanwhile, I would appreciate any info on my first question.

Regards
Madhu

For WLS 6.0, you don't need to run ejbc. Just jar up your remote, bean, home
classes (possibly pk class for entity beans) with the deployment
descriptors, drop the jar file into the "applications" directory, WLS will
automatically run ejbc for you.
