In this case i can't because we ONLY update our cvs tree to specific versions 
- we never, ever update blindly to "the latest version" because we have 15 
developers constantly checking in new stuff, and an update to the latest is 
only likely to cause us grief (history has proven this). With this system we 
only update specific files to specific versions.

Unless there is a way of telling ant, "only update these files, and update 
them to these versions." Of course, i guess it's conceivable to write a task 
which reads a (generated) property file to do exactly that, but... i've been 
lazy. That's probably not a bad idea for a new object...
