FYI in Ant 1.5 I added a check that will make it fail at runtime if ant.jar
and optional.jar are not the same version. Might be a bit aggressive and I
wanted to just issue a warning, but that's in it right now...

For what I have read here, it happened many times that people just had
ant.jar and optional.jar from different versions and were sending help,
help, help. So this should not happen anymore and the diagnostic command
(-diagnostics) in ant should help with a couple of things as well but
unfortunately I just discovered that I forgot to catch errors and it does
not work as expected ! how stupid I am ! Food for 1.5.1
