The problem is that the version number is not held in a property file (although it could be). This is one of the anthill 'features' - anthill will maintain a version file, containing a version number: <prefix><buildNo><postfix> It searches from the end of the string to find the first numeric portion and increments this. It's this behaviour that I'm trying to emulate with the script.
