"I was shocked when I found out that the EU had decided to provide Yugoslavia with only 75 million euros ", Mr. Stoiber stressed in a letter addressed to the European Commission President Romano Prodi. Criticizing the fact that a major part of the assistance would be used for paying off old Yugoslav debts, the Bavarian Prime Minister stressed that Belgrade would receive 75 million euros in November.
