This is such fascist pro-American drivel it's not even worthy of coment. But
then again it enrages me so much that I will again speak out against these
arguments (these are meant for the author of the piece and not Miroslav) If
Serbs in SERBIA were such pro-Americans why did I learn to sing "Amerika ce
biti zemlja proleterska" (america will be a proletarian country!)???? And
wha't up with her intolerence for "anti-americanism"???? What kind of
McCarthyist bullshit is that???? Man this is a suicidal and dispicable line
that bends to the very power that is destroying the Serbs.
This line of some American Serbs is so disturbing it effectively curtails any
support they might get outside their little circle of rich bourgeois biggots
in the US. These are the same people that the Bush fascists LOVE and that
helped the Democratic Fascist Party clustered around Mad Albright oust
Milosevic in 2000. These people have only one God and that is the US of A
and to have that vile power acknowledge and grace the Serbs with their
"divine" touch.
And what the fuck does this "learned" author and analyst have to say????

What a fucking nut-case!!!! What the hell does this mean? This is
absolutely unacceptable and dispicable and is such classic war propaganda
it's not even funny. I personally don't want a bunch of anti-Muslim biggots,
skin-heads, KKK freaks, American xenophobic nationalists and fascistically
inclined Republicans as my allies. This article isn't any refined critique
of Wahhabism, or an analysis of the pro-imperialist instrumentalisation of
some Islamist movements and ideologies to serve American interests, but a
pure and simply racist portrayal of an entire people. Sound familiar?

That they're dangerous, have nothing to do with Serbia and Serbs, etc. Serbs
do not hate Muslisms, we never have and never will. Many Serbs were actually
hurt by the fact that the Muslims in Bosnia sided with the Croats and not
with them. and the Yugoslavia they were trying to preserve. The Serbs never
in the last ten years called for a fight against all MUSLIMS, but against
"the Turks" which was essentially a name for the Turkish experience in the
19th century that was one of oppression and imperial subjugation. This
Serbian struggle against the Turkish empire was preserved as an example of
national liberation struggle by communist ideologists and in most Serbian
minds at the begining of the 1990s had a completely secular meaning to it.
Thus what the Serbs fought against wasn't "the Muslim threat" as
self-interested and biggoted American interpreters of Serbian motives would
have us believe, but against the refusal to be subjugated by a
pro-imperialist, pro-Western, proto-fascist and Islamist elite. The Serbs in
the late 1980s and early 1990s - and all the state propaganda of the time
bears this out - were revolting simply against the remergence of European
fascism than against any supposed Orientalist threat of barbarian hordes
sullying Europes purity (which is actually the line that the US-backed
democratic opposition in Serbia tried to push). In fact the Serbian
mass-movement of the period was based on 1) a desire to preserve multiethnic
Yugoslavia, 2) to end the persecution of Serbs in Kosovo, 3) to establish
workers control over macro-economic and not just micro-economic policy (thus
displacing the IMF), and 4) to resist the rising neofascism throughout
Europe. The US-backed "indipendent" and "democratic" Serbs tried to push the
line that 1) Milosevic is lying, European fascism isn't on the rise, in fact
we should embrace the "new" (and now obviously fascist) Europe, 2) We are
WESTERN and the gate-keepers against the barbarian hordes from the East, 3)
Communism and socialism is dead and only capitalist liberal democracy is the
way of the future, 4) Milosevic is such an idiot for meeting with "niggers"
and African leaders, what? does he want Serbia to belong to Africa, 5) what
the hell is Milosevic doing with the Chinese? Why does he keep insisting on
mixing with these non-white races....etc, etc., Obviously I'm slightly
exagerating, but not by much....these people are dispicable and dangerous and
they've always pinned their hopes on orders eminating from the power-elite in
Washington - and particularly its most virulent anti-communist and monarchist
elements, like all good East European Slavic exile communities in the USA
backed by the CIA - than those from the Serbian people living in the former
Yugoslavia.
It is incumbent on each and everyone of us truly opposed to NATO's aggressive
and destructive agenda to oppose this pro-imperialist, fascist, racist,
xenophobic and fundamentally un-Serbian formulation from passing itself off
as Serbian in order to serve American interests and sow discord btwn
Washington's potential rivals.
Interestingly enough, it is those who have never visited Yugoslavia, don't
even have south-slavic names, or don't even speak the language who are the
most vigorous exponents of this line (think Bodansky, Maher, Buchanan,
Raimondo, etc.)
