Subject: Larry" Chameleon" Tribe for Kangaroo Courts:UC Kangaroo Law School Too!

From today's New York Times:

"Prof.Laurence H. Tribe of Harvard Law School and Prof.Cass Sunstein of the University of Chicago more or less agreed with Senator Charles E. Schumer, the New  York Democrat who was running the hearing, that there was a need for tribunals and that some secrecy was necessary."

Well first Larry Tribe supported Bush's Kangaroo Courts in the New York Times, while my teacher and friend from HLS, Phil Heymann, former US Deputy Attorney General, condemned them in no uncertain terms. Then yesterday in the Washington Post, Larry seemed to oppose Bush's Kangaroo Courts. Now he supports them. I suspect that  is what Larry is now teaching his students at  Harvard Law School: Chameleon Kangaroo Constitutional Law.. And of course HLS students have Alan "Torture Them All" Dershowitz teaching them Criminal Law  and Procedure, as well as "Constitutional Litigation." Perhaps Alan would be so kind as to explain to his HLS students   how torture can be squared with the Constitution. And then there is HLS's Feddie Chuckie Fried who also publicly supports these Bush/Gonzales/Feddie Kangaroo Courts. No surprise there.
As for Sunny Cass of the right-wing reactionary University of Chicago Law School, he obviously had drawn up a road-map about how to make these Kangaroo Courts somehow consistent with the Bill of Rights.Mirabile dictu--A Kangaroo Bill of Rights! And of course there was UC's Jack "Hang Em High" Goldsmith also reported in the New York Times as  supporting these Gonzales/Feddie  Kangaroo Courts. But what else do you expect from U Chicago Law? Those of us who are longstanding U Chicago alums know they have had a Kangaroo Law School there for quite some time. We can also remember when U Chicago Law School had one of the best law schools in the country--just as good as Harvard and Yale.
And in case you are wondering, yes i was accepted at U Chicago Law during the midst of my third year at U Chicago College--back in the days when they were every bit as good as Harvard and Yale. But three decades of U Chicago Law and Kick Them in the Groin Economics and the Federalist Society have ruined a once great law school. I am sure that their former Dean and UC President Edward Hirsch Levi rolls over in his grave every day in despair. And if HLS is not careful, it could go the same way as U Chicago Law. Sic transit gloria mundi!
