Airbag unveiled for skyscraper workers
===========================

A wearable airbag has been invented which might have protected office
workers who jumped from the World Trade Centre.

Russian scientists say the device fits into a backpack and gives a good
chance of survival at any height.

Users must fall backwards from the building and then the airbag inflates and
a series of air-filled layers absorb the shock of impact.

Scientists from the Babakin Research Centre in Moscow say it doesn't matter
what height people jump from because it works just as well from the first or
the 51st floors.

It weighs 44 pounds, the outer skin is fireproof and it is expected to cost
between 70 and 200.
