September 1, 1939 marked the effective beginning of World War II. Yesterday, March 24, three years earlier, marks that of World War III. In both instances the patient, noble efforts of the best of humanity to undo and redress the causes of a global hecatomb were brutally torn to shreds and in both cases a renewed era of barbaric, maniacal and catastrophic militarism was unleashed against the people of the world. Compare the appended, diabolical, declamation to the pronouncements of then U.S. President Bill Clinton on March 23 and March 24 of 1999 in which he cynically invoked the security of the United States and the cause of world peace to rally support for the most criminal, demonic act of brutal aggression against an innocent, unoffending nation in our lifetime. And witness how much more secure his own nation has become and how more peaceful the world is, as continents and peoples are plunged into war and internal civil strife from the Balkans to the Caucasus, from Central Asia to South America, from Western and Central Africa to the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent. >From Goethe's rendition of the Faust legend: In the end we are all destroyed by monsters of our own creation.
