"Most firms do not have the necassary paperwork, not even about their property, nor have they been transformed in conformity with the Law on Enterprises. Many enterprises have not even tried to define relations with debtors and creditors," Vlahovic explained at an expanded session of the Administrative Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina. He called on all businessmen to resolve these problems, and not to wait for privatization. Privatization by tender is currently unberway in 55 firms in Serbia, and by the end of March there will be 15-20 more and by the end of the year a total of 70 firms, Vlahovic recalled and added that by tender privatizations will be trasformed 150 firms in the next four years. "Privatization by bidding will undergo by the end of the year approximately 200 firms. Next year we expect that this form of privatization will be stepped up, when we will have at least four privatizations by bidding daily. However, we do not expect that all 7,000 firms will be privatized, and at least one half will go bankrupt.
