A sizeable protest is building up in the region. The Argentine working class and people say this renewed attack against them shall not pass, they will not accept this continued policy of economic ruin, designed to demoralize the population and create conditions for a military coup, to impose the imperialist policies by means of a bloodbath. In this context, precisely today, the comments of the Chief of Police, Roberto Giacomino, are indeed ominous. He compared the "violence" in Argentina with the war in the Middle East, saying that it was "worse than the terrible war taking place in the Middle East." He expressed worry and concern over the more than 150 people, "including civilians and police, who have lost their lives in acts of violence in the course of this year." Meanwhile, members of working class organizations are manning round the clock guards at the Brukman textile factory, under worker control since last December, threatened by the bosses and the bourgeoisie, who are very conscious of the fact that these methods of struggle are in the process of spreading throughout the working class. (see previous messge 1331: In support of the Brukman workers) Even though Emilio Ali has been freed, thanks to months of struggle by workers and the exploited all over Argentina, and indeed, internationally; the international campaign must continue stronger than ever: arrest warrents have been issued for 58 members of the Teresa Rodriguez Movement, part of the National Picketers Bloc (see previous message 1329: They want to jail militants of the MTR). And we must not forget that the supposed coverage for the unemployed promised by Duhalde is a fraud and a sham, and that there are still 3000 brothers and sisters facing criminal charges for struggling, there are even comrades still in jail as a result of the events of December 19-20! The revolutionary process, far from being over, is fueled by the needs of the imperialist bougeoisie to make the Argentine working class and people pay for the crisis created by their decrepit capitalist regime, on the one hand, and the firm resistence and growth in forms of organization of the vanguard of the Argentine working class and people (see previous message 1330: Reject Truce with Duhalde's government), determined to move forward to a working class solution to the crisis.
